Day 2 Hurricane Ridge
The must see jewel of Olympic National Park.
Hurricane Ridge is an easy 17 mile drive taking you up to 5,200 feet elevation. The spectacular mountains are beauty beyond words. The day lodge and many trails offer breath taking views of the glacier-clad peaks of the Olympic Mountains, panoramic views of the Strait of Juan de Fuca and the alpine meadows.
Numerous trails range from easy to very difficult - the Lodge at the summit has an interactive display of the Park as well as a theatre to view the beauty of the Park with a Ranger as your guide - or you could just sit in your car and enjoy the amazing view - making it possible for all people to enjoy the area’s beauty.
Guided nature walks with rangers are available in Fall, Summer and Spring and guided snowshoe walks in the winter amongst the whisper quiet of the mountains!
One can take a picnic lunch and spend the day at Hurricane Ridge and cap off the day by watching an awesome sunset.
While accessible year round, it is always advisable to check the weather conditions before heading out. The Hurricane Ridge recorded weather line is 360-565-3131.
