Oh, It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!!
We had so much fun decorating the Cottages for Christmas again this year! Why don't you drive on out this weekend to see the lights - we have lots of openings so just the place for a quiet get-away!
Out here on the Olympic Peninsula - even in the "Banana Belt" of Sequim - we still get 16 inches of rain on average and it usually falls November through April. We love our winter storms! The wind blowing over Dungeness Bay sometimes breaks waves through the Dungeness Spit and the cold waters of the Straits of Juan de Fuca come pouring in! It happened again at a high tide just a few days ago. Only in one spot so not as many logs floating sround as have happened in years past. The clouds go racing by and it is so cozy to watch it all sitting in your own Cottage sipping a nice glass of wine!
Rarely - but every year or three - we get an inch or so of snow.... one can dream of white for Christmas - or just look out your window up at Hurricane Ridge and imagine snowshoeing up there on a blue-sky day! It's on my bucket list for this winter for sure!!!
The Olympic Mountains are so close that we are at the top of the Ridge in about an hour in the winter time!
