Hurricane Ridge Road
Olympic National Park’s Hurricane Ridge winter schedule has been announced for the 201-2012 season.  Weather permitting, the Hurricane Ridge Road will be open daily 9 a.m. to dusk through the winter season, except for December 25, Christmas Day.

Description:  Visit the rain shadow of the Olympic Peninsula to discover  the birds  of the coastal Pacific Northwest—Marbled Murrelets, Rhinoceros  Auklets,  Harlequin Ducks, dippers, Black Oystercatchers, Long-tailed  Ducks, and  more. Guided field trips, a boat cruise in the Strait of Juan  de Fuca,  silent auction, and a gala banquet at the Sunland Golf &  Country  Club. The festival with the most spectacular setting!

Three   Days of kayak instruction, clinics, slide shows and demos of kayaks  and  accessories from leading manufacturers. Hotel discounts, fun events  and  kayak and gear sales.10am to 5pm

Kids Fishing Derby
April 21, 2012

Our annual kids fishing derby is here again! Grab your fishing poles and head on down to the Lincoln Park Ponds. This derby is just for kids 14 and under. We’ll have prizes, food and fish!! So bring your blanket, fishing pole and some patience. Don’t let that big one get away. 8-11am

Mustang and Cougar Car Show
April 27 – 30, 2012

North Olympic Mustangs hosts the Spring Show N’ Shine for Mustangs, Cougars, Rods and Customs plus teen & fixer upper classes. Raffles…Door  Prizes…Games…50/50 drawing…Food all part of the fun! Trophies for 1st  & 2nd  places in Mustangs & Cougars division as well as the Rod & Custom division. Starts at 9am.

This   4 day Memorial Day weekend festival features over 125 performances of   music, dance and theater from around the world, including musical   workshops, a street fair, public art, and special activities for   children

Halibut Derby

9th Annual Halibut Derby, a two day event with $20,000 in cash prizes. Tickets are $40. Saturday Daylight-2pm  Sunday Daylight-2pm

June 2012

North Olympic Discovery Marathon
June 3, 2012
The   North Olympic Discovery Marathon and Half-Marathon are run on a unique   point-to-point course that incorporates the Olympic Discovery Trail -   with stunning views of the Olympic Mountains and a five mile finishing   stretch along the shores of the Strait of Juan de Fuca. The race is a   USATF sanctioned event that is a Boston Marathon qualifier and will be   chip timed. The rails to trails course is a wide, mixed, hard surface   trail. Cool June weather next to the ocean can be expected.

De Fuca Downwind Race
June 9, 2012
De Fuca Downwind Race is held in the Strait of Juan de Fuca and participants paddle from Freshwater Bay to Port Angeles.  The conditions can vary but race officials do a great job for participant support and safety.

Sequim Lavender Festival
July 20 - 22, 2012
Three-day   summer celebration of the joys of lavender.  Festival includes eight   Farms on Tour, each offering a variety of lavender-centered activities,   including, lavender lore, demonstrations, agricultural history,   workshops, horticultural programs, and the opportunity to spend time in   the fields.  The Street Fair features more than 125 craftspeople and   vendors of lavender and other Olympic Peninsula specialties.  Also at   the Street Fair is fine musical entertainment, great local foods and an   Olympic Peninsula wine tasting.

A Hot Air Balloon Festival Race spanning three days and lots of events!  Hot Gas and Gears Car Show, a 1/2 Marathon Run for the Barn race, Chase the Balloons Bicycle Race, Pilgrims Paddle Kayak Race, Lucy’s Grape Wine Stomp, Music and Food day and night, Street Fair and best is Twilight in the Olympics – a Sunset Balloon Glow on a 1/2 acre lake!  Something for everyone!
